Came upon loggerhead turtles hatching along the banks of the Atlantic Ocean in front of the beach house where our family was staying. There is a dedicated group of volunteers who watch the beach for signs of mamma turtles digging their wholes and leaving deposits of nearly 100 eggs in the sand. Fifty days or so later the eggs hatch and the babies dig their way to the surface before continuing the long swim to the Gulf Stream more than 40 miles away from the shore. This video was recorded with a Canon 60d DSLR camera using a 16-35 lens and a 70-300 lens. It was a lucky find and a blessed event to stumble upon.
